Alice Wilson Memorial Fund
"Being in Nature is like being close to God."
In October 1999, I told my mother about the idea of creating an organization that helped children and families spend time together in the outdoors.
Mom said she thought it would be "a good thing to do because being in nature was like being close to God."
I didn’t know the first thing about running a nonprofit organization. But if my mother thought it was a good idea, I was going to give it a shot. In the years since, Wildwoods has served over 100,000 kids and their families, helping them connect with nature. I don’t think I would have had the courage to start Wildwoods if it hadn’t been for Mom’s blessing.
On the evening of September 26, my mother crossed over. We've created this memorial fund to honor her legacy and to help us continue the work that she inspired.
